Muse Element is a tiny team of two, based in Signal Hill California. Our goal is to show gratitude for creativity, environment, and craftsmanship.
The materials we interact with oftentimes are the muse; giving credit to the muse by using elements within each. Expressing its personality as an extension of their previous lives.
Putting Our
Environment First
Vegetable Tanning is an organic tanning process with tannins derived from plants such as tree barks, mimosa, and etc. The oldest technique before chemical dye existed. Time consuming process requires 30-60 days of skillful craftsmanship. Unique quality not found in chrome tanned leather.
Minimal environmental impact benefits numerous health concerns. Leather is a byproduct of food industry, serviceable, breathable, antimicrobial, and biodegradable when tanned naturally(non-chrome tanned). We hand select each hide from reputable premium leather suppliers, LeatherPlan/Sepici and Silver Leather. Vegetable tanned leather offers great durability and develops rich patina with age.
Design & Craft
As environmental concerns play a big part of our brand, designing versatile timeless pieces become priority. Evolution takes time, from concept to finish, we meticulously design and craft each item by hand. Hand sewn one stitch at a time with special tools and techniques needed to match the choice of leather. The hand stitch technique call saddle stitching prevents the seam to unravel even if the thread breaks, making it more durable than machine sewn. Production time per item varies from four up to 45+ hours. All in effort of offering one of a kind pieces.
